MTH aims therefore to offer a balance of National Curriculum subjects and courses to inspire pupils to follow a Vocational Pathway of their choice.
MTH timetables allow young people to consider their individual learning journeys and consider educational options post compulsory schooling at the end of year 11. The bespoke timetables and wrap around support from the MTH Team enables young people to begin to address SEMH needs and to build on their aspirations to achieve.
All pupils follow a core curriculum of Maths and English, which sits alongside their vocational course offer. Consideration is given to a pupil’s onward journey where access to an FE programme requires, for example, a Science GCSE. Onsite at MTH additional offer includes Art/Science/ICT to up to GCSE level for young people wishing to follow these subjects.
Within the Offsite Providers, typically the local college or a training provider, vocational programmes are accredited to enable pupils to progress on to next level Further Education courses or application for Traineeships/Apprenticeships.
The Commissioning process around Alternative Providers is robust and seeks to support the interest areas of the MTH cohort taking in to account local Labour Market Information. Regular evaluation of offsite providers ensures quality and accountability.
